The wardrobe possibilities with this piece are endless! Hundreds of artists, many of them renowned, have painted the waterfalls at Tivoli from this same vantage point through the centuries. It’s fascinating to compare them and see the same landscape through many different eyes, and many different time periods — even the magnificent tree in the foreground of Ducros’ painting can be seen again and again through the years like a painted time capsule. In life — like in art — there is always another opportunity to see the world with a new perspective, and to become the best version of yourself :)

In the foothills of her hardest days she kneels in the rocks,  bends her head and looks down the deep well  of her heart. At the bottom  she sees abandoned things in the water there:   a white flash of crowded stars, broken pottery,  the tangled feathers of a bird.

When she dips her cup to drink  she will taste a flood of remembering. Apples and ache, breath and sunlight, mud and milk.  Forest rain. The sea. And the strong wet iron in her bones.  Her chest widens like the sky. All at once there is room for everything inside her— even her goodness.  Room for all the stars, a vase of flowers, and her wings.
