Earth & Sky Cottage Cardigan
Crafted from cozy printed cotton & spandex and lined with super soft poly-fleece, our Cottage Jackets combine the warmth and comfort of a cardigan with the style, versatility, and look of our stardusters. They are washable, and include patch pockets. After many months of development, we're so excited to welcome this special new piece to our collection for cooler days!
One of our favourite ways to pass the time on a free afternoon is just to lie in the grass and look up at the clouds through the branches of the beautiful old trees that border our headquarters here at Market of Stars. Earth and Sky was created out of a deep appreciation for rare days like these — full of wise ancient trees, and wide open skies! Painted in the late 1800’s by British artist Charles Aston, the palette is a dreamy and meditative play of textures and colours from the natural world. We trimmed Aston’s magnificent tree with moths painted in the 1600’s by Dutch master Melchior d’Hondecoeter. The result is airy and ethereal, and so easy to wear.
Cotton/spandex blend outer, lined in poly fleece. Machine wash gentle or handwash, gently reshape and lay flat to dry.
Cardigan measurements: length approximately 65cm, width (across back, underarm to underarm) approximately 74cm. Model is 5’7” for reference.

Our Cottage Cardi is so cool & versatile, you’ll be reaching for it again and again… whether you’re out running errands on a chilly day, or getting cozy at home with a good book. Layer it with jeans & a turtleneck, pack it along on your weekend getaway for a light jacket, or pop it on over your solid basics to instantly elevate them. We love this one paired with rich, textured neutrals (think cream cashmere or taupe linen shirting) for a luxe casual look… but we’ll also be wearing it over long dresses & ankle boots. Stylish, romantic, and comfy!

The old soul, the forest-bather. Women who are wild and wise, who stop and marvel at the beauty all around them. Women who speak to the trees.

Born in 1832 in Birmingham and trained as an architect, watercolour artist Charles Aston is best known for his landscape and scenic paintings of views around Italy and Wales. Her warm back against the earth leaves no mark. Still the gentle ghost of every heart that once eased on these roots stirs and sighs with hers: I stopped to see this piece of sky on a summer day my eyes followed the curve of this branch and that one to its green end. I once was here, too.
