I Dream in Flowers Cottage Cardigan
Crafted from cozy printed cotton & spandex and lined with super soft poly-fleece, our Cottage Jackets combine the warmth and comfort of a cardigan with the style, versatility, and look of our stardusters. They are washable, and include patch pockets. After many months of development, we're so excited to welcome this special new piece to our collection for cooler days!
A riotous, painterly celebration of art and the natural world, this luxe cardigan is all at once romantic, ethereal, and so so cool. Inspired by the romance of European flower markets, we created the print using a masterful oil painting from the early 1600’s by artist Jan Brueghel, and an ink drawing of bumblebees we found in a Victorian insect encyclopedia. It has the look of a treasured vintage piece that will never go out of style.
Cotton/spandex blend outer, lined in poly fleece. Machine wash gentle or handwash, gently reshape and lay flat to dry.
Cardigan measurements: length approximately 65cm, width (across back, underarm to underarm) approximately 74cm. Model is 5’5” for reference.

Our Cottage Cardi is so cool & versatile, you’ll be reaching for it again and again… whether you’re out running errands on a chilly day, or getting cozy at home with a good book. Layer it with jeans & a turtleneck, pack it along on your weekend getaway for a light jacket, or pop it on over your solid basics to instantly elevate them. We’ll be wearing our I Dream in Flowers Cottage Cardi with a scoop neck sweater, trousers, and leather boots, and layering it over pinstripe shirts & denim button-ups too. It’s also hanging in our guest bedroom as a cozy welcome for friends & family visiting Market of Stars headquarters — the perfect piece for long breakfasts and comfy evenings.

The artisan, the wandering spirit. Women who roam through museums and gardens and untamed places, finding beauty wherever they look. Women who are works of art.

Jan Bruegel was a highly influential Flemish artist, perhaps best known for his lavish, colourful, and highly detailed floral paintings. Many of his still-life floral arrangements are combinations of common flowers and very rare ones, and often are composed of flowers that bloom during different seasons. He regularly travelled outside of his home in Antwerp so he could find and sketch unusual flowers for his painted bouquets. The effusive colours and delightful details in his work are rich, celebratory and (we think) pure magic when printed on to our soft fabric.

In the dark, she dreams flowers. Larkspur and lilac, white hawthorn blooming moonlight on the bed. In the cotton and hay her breath shivers with perfume and pollen, a feast for bees. Their soft velvet hum like a blanket. She dreams flowers, white lilies line the path to her heart like lanterns. Her chest is tangled and tender, the prickles of regret the sweet hope of alyssum. Her arms are strong as branches, fists a flourish of blossoms she will not let go.
