In Stardust We Trust (Midnight Dove) Goddess Duster

CA$139.00

The piece that started it all — created to remind ourselves to trust in our dreams again. To trust in possibility. In wonder. In stardust.

The artwork on this stunning kimono was custom painted by talented local artist Kat Cearns, and based on doves from original antique Victorian prints. Images of doves are symbols of faith, hope and peace — and they were believed by the Victorians to bring luck when worn on jewelry or embroidered on clothing. Each of our doves carry a flowing banner reading “In Stardust We Trust” — the motto behind Market of Stars.

We let our dreams take wing with this one :)

100% bamboo/wood viscose. Machine wash gentle or handwash and hang to dry. Iron to finish if needed.

Kimono measurements: length 92cm, width 110cm. Model is 5’2” for reference.

  • We designed this kimono to go with almost everything! The deep “midnight” background (black blended with a hint of deep blue) will literally compliment just about every other colour. Wear it with warm tones or cool ones. We love it with a basic grey or white tank, but it looks equally beautiful with terracotta, beige, navy, and sage green. Danielle loves to wear it over a belted slipdress, tied at the front with leggings, or thrown over a black tee with jeans & boots. The flowy, beautifully draped silhouette suits all body types, and feels feminine without being fussy.

We also love to wear this style for hanging out around the house with leggings & a camisole for the ultimate in loungewear chic :)

  • The poet, the luminary. Women who take a leap of faith and trust in their own vision, who follow their own flights of fancy. Women who look up.

  • Kat Cearns is an artist and painter from Vancouver Island. Of her process, Kat says “Throughout my life the thread that keeps me tied together has always been art. I love capturing the emotion of a memory or vision on paper or canvas.”  Check out her delightful catalogue of work on her website at: www.katcearns.com, and on her instagram @kat_cearns.

  • There were clear directions to Neverland: second star to the left and straight on till morning. But years ago  she stopped looking up. Fixed her eyes on the future like two headlights down a dark road. She ran over things:  sticks and stones, her own pen, her own heart.  She drove until her eyes went dim.

And then somewhere in the dark she remembered:  there are also stars to see by.  Stars that open out across the sky like a roadmap,   millions of paths luminous and wild, pixie dust scattered in all directions.  And brightest of all: there are stars in her eyes too. Just look up. Just look up.
