Love Conquers All Luxe Tee
When we found this powerful image from the 1800s in a library archive, we actually gasped with delight! At once strong and soft, bold and romantic, we couldn’t help but be swept away. The antique lithograph depicts two figures locked in an embrace, with the arm of one and the face of the other forming a heart. Honestly we’d never seen anything like it :) We did extensive reconstruction on the image, adding doves flying out from a crescent moon in the sky, and the swirling galaxy below. Lastly, we included the words “Amor Vincit Omnia”, which translates from Latin as “Love Conquers All”. And we truly believe that it does.

This effortlessly cool tee is always on high rotation in our own wardrobes! Danielle wears hers side tucked in to slouchy trousers and paired with a knotted scarf and leather boots. We also love to play with both sizes, layering the longer length of the L/XL over shorter slip dresses and tights for a fresh take on 90s fashion. Or add it to a simple black legging and a ballet flat for a chic arthouse look. Edgy, romantic, and totally unique!

Sometimes the antique prints and images we discover are not in the best condition, so even though we might think they’re beautiful, we have to abandon the idea of creating anything with them. We found the lithograph for Love Conquers All in pretty rough shape, with rips, water spots, and extensive wear from it’s considerable age. But we loved it so much we just couldn’t let it go! We worked with our talented graphic designer to restore and reimagine the image — and we’re so happy with the results. It’s become one of our very favourite pieces in the whole collection, and we hope you love it too :)

The world keeps on teaching her plainness. Starched artless truths, sensible lines on flat paper. Lines on the road outside her car window, going by in the rumble of passing seconds that will stack like bricks and somehow become a life. But oh —
her heart learns that some seconds are soft and wild as kisses. She gathers these in the folds of her clothes and in the hollows of her throat like jewels, ripe apples and pears in trees by the roadside bruised but sweet in the warm rain. Her lines curve like a hundred winding roads, her forehead rests against the car window and she feels it thrumming under her touch like the chest of a lover.
