Still I Rise Cottage Cardigan
Crafted from cozy printed cotton & spandex and lined with super soft poly-fleece, our Cottage Jackets combine the warmth and comfort of a cardigan with the style, versatility, and look of our stardusters. They are washable, and include patch pockets. After many months of development, we're so excited to welcome this special new piece to our collection for cooler days!
Dreamy, romantic, and full of hope — Still I Rise was created for those who meet each day with a loving and tenacious heart, come what may. We layered together several historic engravings from the 18th century to make this piece— including English forest landscapes by artist William Woolett— and married them with the captivating image of a woman boldly greeting the sun. There’s something so strong in her posture, and we love that she’s stepping forward to meet the day in her bare feet with joy! The trim comes from an intricate watercolour-and-ink drawing of an American heritage quilt from the 1930’s, which pairs beautifully with the charcoal and beige backdrop.
Cotton/spandex blend outer, lined in poly fleece. Machine wash gentle or handwash, gently reshape and lay flat to dry.
Cardigan measurements: length approximately 65cm, width (across back, underarm to underarm) approximately 74cm. Model is 5’2” for reference.

Still I’ll rise.”

and cost little in the giving,

and made the day worth living.”

Our Cottage Cardi is so cool & versatile, you’ll be reaching for it again and again… whether you’re out running errands on a chilly day, or getting cozy at home with a good book. Layer it with jeans & a turtleneck, pack it along on your weekend getaway for a light jacket, or pop it on over your solid basics to instantly elevate them. Our Still I Rise Cottage Cardi is both whimsical and subtle, with an easy palette of charcoal, cream, and beige. We’ll be wearing it over sage green & basic black in the fall, and lightening it up with pink on cool spring days. Our favourite pairing? A soft heather grey sweater, jeans, and black boots: simple and so stylish.

The heroine, the brave-of-heart. Women with unbreakable spirit who welcome the promise of each new day. Women who rise like the sun.

Although the trim on our Still I Rise design appears at first glance to be a regular floral pattern, it’s actually a print we created using a detailed watercolour & ink painting from the 1930’s. In a time before easy and affordable access to cameras, textile and quilt patterns in the rural US were often documented through meticulously done drawings and paintings that captured every detail of the fabric the way a photograph would. These drawings — often done of prize-winning quilts — are works of art unto themselves.

If you wake in the morning and your heart is a stranger wandering the rooms of your chest, then open a window. Feel the pulse of light. Your feet are on the earth, they know the way home. Pour coffee like you would to welcome an old friend.
