Still I Rise Luxe Tee
Dreamy, romantic, and full of hope — Still I Rise was created for those who meet each day with a loving and tenacious heart, come what may. We layered together several historic engravings from the 18th century to make this piece— including English forest landscapes by artist William Woolett— and married them with the captivating image of a woman boldly greeting the sun. There’s something so strong in her posture, and we love that she’s stepping forward to meet the day in her bare feet with joy! The inside trim comes from an intricate watercolour-and-ink drawing of an American heritage quilt from the 1930’s, which pairs beautifully with the charcoal and beige backdrop.
Please note: due to the nature of our soft & airy bamboo viscose, this piece is slightly sheer. Some customers may wish to wear a tank, or a nude bra, underneath.
About our Luxe Tees:
This is how we do basic! We’ve taken a wardrobe staple — the humble t-shirt — and elevated it to a chic, easy piece that’s destined to become a style you’ll reach for over and over, all year long. Crafted from the same soft bamboo fabric as our stardusters, our Luxe Tees feature a flattering, wide scoop neck, relaxed seamless sleeve, side slits, and hem detailing with a hidden contrast print. Available in two sizes custom-designed to fit different body types, our S/M is cut slightly shorter to flatter sizes 2-10, and our L/XL has extra length for sizes 10-14.
100% bamboo/wood viscose. Machine wash gentle or handwash and hang to dry. Iron to finish if needed.
Measurements: S/M — length 64cm (shoulder to hem), width 57cm (underarm to underarm), L/XL — length 75cm, 63cm width (underarm to underarm) Model wears an S/M and is 5’2” for reference.

The heroine, the brave-of-heart. Women with unbreakable spirit who welcome the promise of each new day. Women who rise like the sun.

Although the trim on our Still I Rise design appears at first glance to be a regular floral pattern, it’s actually a print we created using a detailed watercolour & ink painting from the 1930’s. In a time before easy and affordable access to cameras, textile and quilt patterns in the rural US were often documented through meticulously done drawings and paintings that captured every detail of the fabric the way a photograph would. These drawings — often done of prize-winning quilts — are works of art unto themselves.

If you wake in the morning and your heart is a stranger wandering the rooms of your chest, then open a window. Feel the pulse of light. Your feet are on the earth, they know the way home. Pour coffee like you would to welcome an old friend.
